Faith Development

We will not be having Summer 2023 Sunday School, (with the exception of

the Adult New Media Class. They will meet at 10:30am after the 9:30am

Service.)

Here are some other Summer opportunities however:

SUNDAY MORNING (Sunday School) CLASSES NORMALLY MEET

                AT 9:35 a.m.

CHILDREN'S Sunday School

Meets:  In Knapp Wing, lower level

We invite children to Sunday school classes for ages 3 through 6th grade.

Classes meet from 9:35 to 10:35 a.m. each week.  Our current classes are grouped as follows:

3 yrs. thru  Kindergarten,   1st/2nd/3rd grade,    4th/5th/6th grade

In addition to learning important Bible lessons, children also have music time each week except for the fourth Sunday of the month when they check out Christian books and movies from our library. Special large group activities are also planned a few times a year to coordinate with holidays or Bible lesson themes.

Children’s Sunday school in June is a large group class focused on the Vacation Bible School theme.

No Sunday school is held in July or early August.  We resume mid-August when school starts.

NEW MEDIA (Adult)

Meets: In North wing, lower level

Facilitators: Jim & Nancy Phillips

Do you like to watch videos and DVDs?  Do you enjoy sharing, laughing and socializing with others?  Then this is the class for you! Using electronic media (DVD) to provide a focal point for discussion, we enter into lively and challenging examinations of various social or spiritual topics as they relate to our own lives in a spiritual context.  Come and join us for open-minded discussion.  (and we like to laugh, too!)

WIRED WORD  (Adult)

Meets: Freindship Room, upper level

Facilitator: Janice Samson

This class provides meaningful discussions that take learners past head knowledge of the Bible into heart and life-change knowledge.  Newcomers to ROCKbrook as well as parents whose children attend Sunday School will find this class fun and engaging as well as a place where friendships are formed.

FUSION   (Youth)

fu·sion-noun “A merging of diverse, distinct, or separate elements into a unified whole.”

Fusion 412 is our Middle and High School Ministry. The youth voted on the name, including the biblical reference from I Timothy 4:12,, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” The youth group meets at 9:35am on Sundays for Sunday School and multiple times throughout the month for fellowship and fun! Join us!

PRAYER MINISTRY

Are you in need of prayers for yourself, a loved one, family member, co-worker or neighbor? We have an active Prayer Group here at church that is willing to pray for you & others. This can be kept confidential or give the Prayer Group Leader & Pastor Marcee permission to share your concerns with our congregation. We are here to help 24/7! You may fill out a prayer concern request slip located in the pews & drop it in the Prayer Box located in the Parlor area on the Wall, next to the Bulletin Board. You may also fill out a prayer request and give it to an usher to be read during our Prayers for the People by Pastor Marcee. Feel free to contact Pastor Marcee or Mark Heinz anytime.                 mbinder@rockbrookumc.com               mh7471@abs.att-mail.com
